Lesson: Deleting a Record
In this lesson, you will learn two ways to delete a record. Records that are deleted are not permanently purged from the system. A system administrator can recover deleted records. Even so, care should be taken to be sure that you want to delete a record before running the delete record workflow.
To delete...
- If not already logged in, you will need to Sign-in
- Click Browse Communities from the Banner Navigation Menu.
- In the list of Communities, click Tutorial Community.
- In the list of Collections, click Tutorial Collection.
- Find your record in the list.
There are two ways to delete the record from here...
Method 1:
- Notice to the far right of the record are several icons that represent the workflows that you are allowed to run on this record. The X icon
is the workflow to delete the record. Click the icon.
- You will see a dialog asking, "This action will delete this object. Are you certain you wish to do this?" Click the OK button.
Method 2:
- Click the check box to the left of the record.
- Click the Delete button at the bottom of the list of records.
- You will see a dialog asking, "The checked items will be deleted, are you sure?" Click the OK button.
| Note: If you came to this page by clicking a link other than Previous or Next, then you are outside the normal flow of the tutorial and you should either...
- use the Back button to return to the page you were viewing prior to this page
- OR select a topic from the table of contents at the left.
