Lesson: Deleting a Record

In this lesson, you will learn two ways to delete a record. Records that are deleted are not permanently purged from the system. A system administrator can recover deleted records. Even so, care should be taken to be sure that you want to delete a record before running the delete record workflow.

To delete...

  1. If not already logged in, you will need to Sign-in
  2. Click Browse Communities from the Banner Navigation Menu.
  3. In the list of Communities, click Tutorial Community.
  4. In the list of Collections, click Tutorial Collection.
  5. Find your record in the list.

There are two ways to delete the record from here...

Method 1:

  1. Notice to the far right of the record are several icons that represent the workflows that you are allowed to run on this record. The X icon Image:ONR delete icon.jpg is the workflow to delete the record. Click the Image:ONR delete icon.jpg icon.
  2. You will see a dialog asking, "This action will delete this object. Are you certain you wish to do this?" Click the OK button.

Method 2:

  1. Click the check box to the left of the record.
  2. Click the Delete button at the bottom of the list of records.
  3. You will see a dialog asking, "The checked items will be deleted, are you sure?" Click the OK button.
