Nation's Report Card 2009 released

The National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP) group has released the Nation's Report Card 2009 report.

"This report presents results of the 2009 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) in science at grades 4, 8, and 12. National results for each of the three grades are based on representative samples of public and private school students from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the Department of Defense schools."

"Of the 47 states/jurisdictions that participated at the state level, scores for fourth-grade public school students in 24 states were higher than the score for the nation, and scores in 10 states were lower. At eighth-grade, scores for students in 25 states were higher than the score for the nation, and scores for 15 states were lower.

The full report is available at the Nation's Report Card 2009 site, and snapshot reports for states are also available.
