The current search is a lucene index that is built from an OAI feed generated from NDR metadata objects. It has several limitations...

• unable to produce a resource centric view
• limited to metadata and relationships surfaced through OAI
• updates to NDR take a long time to show up in search
• could not easily incorporate annotations
