The Harvest Manager is a web application that coordinates the automatic harvesting of OAI-PMH metadata sources for NSDL and displays harvest information for NSDL staff and others to view. The Harvest Manager utilizes specific data from the NSDL Collection System (NCS) and submits automated or manual requests for harvests to the ingest process. The harvested OAI records are used by the ingest process to construct metadata objects and resource representations within the NDR. The Harvest Manager receives notifications from the ingest process, and presents reports and results from ingest process log entries. The Harvest Manager is one of the automated maintenance tools for aggregating outside sources of OAI-PMH metadata into the NDR.
