Title: SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome)

Information: What can you tell me about the disease known as SARS? Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, or SARS, is a viral respiratory illness similar to pneumonia that was first seen in Asia in the year 2003. After rapidly spreading to North America and other parts of the world, the disease was largely contained, though a few new cases had been reported in Asia in early 2004. SARS seems to be spread by close contact with an infected person. You can find more in-depth information about SARS, including syptoms, communicability, and what is being done to control the disease, in the resources listed below.
