Question

How do birds fly ?

Answer

Birds can fly because of the shape of their wings. As air flows over the top and bottom of the wing (either when they're flapping or soaring), the air moving over the top of the wing moves faster in order to "keep up" with the air going under the wing. When air moves faster, it has less pressure. So, when the air moving over the top of the wing moves faster (and pushes down less) than the air under the wing (so it pushes up more), the wing - and the whole bird, lifts.
