I think its the Labor Party (could be wrong about that though) that is pushing to open source gov't computing. And some library systems here use it too. Its still stigmatized though in the general public as a nerds-only thing. And its intimidating to many users too (like me), since its not as simple as putting in a CD and letting everything else take care of itself.They are doing that in the UK.
