Education is clearly falling behind in the race between education and technology because of the stasis in the technology that IS education. There was no educational equivalent of Charles Darwin who explained a set of natural laws in _On_the_Origin_of_Courses_. We need to begin in earnest to work on the problem of what technology will replace schools. We need to complete this analogy: Typewriters are to computers as schools are to ______________. I join you in calling for a fresh look at increasing resources at a national level for improving the physical, social and technical infrastructure for education in the U.S. Teachers, students, families and ultimately the economy need an educational bailout!
