Question

is there a formula for figuring square footage for complex homes using just the total of perimeter measurements

Answer

<DIV>Hi,</DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV>I am assuming that the irregular shapes you are referring to are still polygons. If so then the only way to calculate area is to break the larger irregular polygons into smaller regular polygons so that the formula LxW applies.</DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV>If the shapes are not necessarily polygons, see the following:</DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV>Calculating area</DIV> <DIV><A href=http://www.westone.wa.gov.au/toolbox6/hort6/html/chemical_use/fertilisers_nutrients/fn27/fn27.htm">http://www.westone.wa.gov.au/toolbox6/hort6/html/chemical_use/fertilisers_nutrients/fn27/fn27.htm</A></DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV>Under irregular shapes, this site says:</DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV>
