Hello Kathleen, Well lot's of careers involve mathematics, but science and engineering use it the most from day to day. But there are also plenty of careers for people who only study math - mathematicians. Mathematicians solve national security problems, teach math to students, help astronomers, engineers, and other scientists explain what we see and what we do; mathematics is also called Pure Science, since it forms the basis of most other technical fields.
