Integrating technology in the classroom

Question

As a teacher new to the field, what would you recommend are the most important aspects of developing a classroom website and what advice can you give for a first time site developer?

Answer

Dear Elena, Even though I have my own ideas, I typed "developing a classroom website" into Google, and among the results foundhttp://coekate.murraystate.edu/kate/2003/february/webpage/default.htm entitled "The ABC's of Developing Classroom Web Pages" which looks pretty helpful. Beyond what it says here, I'd would just add: - Keep it simple (graphically) - Involve the students as much as possible I don't know what age your students are, but even in the early grades they can come up with materials and ideas. And by 5th-6th grade onward, you may find some web experts who can be a great help. All the best. - Tom
