Question

I heard you loss brain cells if you hit you head if you do that how many do you loss each time? O, and how many brain cells do you have in your head to start?

Answer

Head injuries are all different and depending on how severe it is, you can lose from few brain cells to a large part of the brain being damaged. I have been unable to find any references to how many brain cells we have but if you calculate the percent that the brain is of the whole body of an average man (3.5 pounds/180 pounds) or about 1.9 % and multiply that with 50 to 100 trillion cells (roughly) in the human body, you get roughly about 1 to 2 trillion cells in the brain.
