Death and Dying

Question

Can people really be frozen and perserved for the future?

Answer

Tadd, Human bodies can be frozen and preseved, yes. However, what I think you mean by preserved is can they be revived. At this time, no. Many people believe, however, that we will eventually be able to revive those that are frozen. Whether this will be able to be done with people that are frozen already, or there will be some trick to the freezing that we don't know about yet, nobody knows for sure. Part of the problem with unfreezing people in the future who are being frozen now is that in order for the body to be frozen, the person needs to be declared dead (otherwise it's considered murder). So not only will we need to be able to thaw the people out, we'll need to be able to revive the dead.
