Question

Are blizzards dangerous? Can they cause a lot of damage? Asked by Christian

Answer

Hi Christian, I did a search in www.google.com for danger blizzards, and found some web sites with excellent information for you. Blizzards from the National Weather Service. http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/Flagstaff/science/blizzard.html This site has an excellent explanation of what a blizzard is and how dangerous it is. About Blizzards and Snow http://weather.about.com/cs/blizards/ This is a comprehensive web site. Scroll down the page to find the MSN Encarta definition of a blizzard. This site also has lots of information about the dangers of blizzards. Also has lots of photos from famous blizzards. Be sure to visit your school or public library. The librarian can show you books on meteorology. Another good source is the World Book Encyclopedia. Thank you for submitting your question to Ask NSDL. Melodye C. Librarian
