Question

The question was, How much flouride is found in Tea, black and green separately, if different. This can be measured per ounce, per gallon or per serving. A follow-up question would be, Are there any documented negative effects related to the flouride in tea. Thank you. Jeff

Answer

Jeff -

Dr. Dainel Armstrong at Iowa State has analyzed a variety of teas for organic compounds. He might also have obtained some information on the flouride content.

His URL and email are <A href=http://www.chem.iastate.edu/faculty/Daniel_Armstrong/">http://www.chem.iastate.edu/faculty/Daniel_Armstrong/ and sec4dwa@iastate.edu.

You might also contact some tea companies directly using their URLs.

Good luck

Frank Settle
Department of Chemistry
Washington & Lee University
Lexington, VA

Is their any indication of the flouride content on the labels?

http://www.chem.iastate.edu/faculty/Daniel_Armstrong/ http://vrd.askvrd.org/services/answerschema.xml
