NSDL: NCore Platform

Collaborations:Overview - Whiteboard collaboration notes

Collaborations: Fedora

Fedora Commons developers have an ongoing working relationship with the NCore project team that has resulted in significant open source code improvements to both Fedora core repository software and to the NCore platform. For example, the MPTStore was co-developed as an alternative RDBMS-backed triplestore that supports very large, rapidly-changing resource indices in Fedora.

The NSDL community of projects supported by NCore technologies have also contributed semantic publishing use cases that are of significant interest to the worldwide Fedora Commons community. NSDL's lively open source blogosphere, for example, is plugged into the NSDL Fedora-based repository and used by discipline-specific scientific web portals, teachers, and librarians.

The plugged-in NSDL Wiki has enabled new kinds of scholarly publications, such as NSDL's Classic Articles in Context (CAC).

The NCore-Fedora Commons connection is an ongoing partnership that sparks innovation.
