NSDL Science Literacy Maps are a tool for teachers and students to find resources that relate to specific science and math concepts. The maps illustrate connections between concepts as well as how concepts build upon one another across grade levels. Clicking on a concept within the maps will show NSDL resources relevant to the concept, as well as information about related AAAS Project 2061 Benchmarks and National Science Education Standards.

NSDL Science Literacy Maps were created by the NSDL using the Strand Map Service (SMS). The SMS is produced by researchers from the University of Colorado at Boulder and Digital Learning Sciences and is based on the strand maps developed by Project 2061 at the American Association for the Advancement of Science and published in the Atlas of Science Literacy, Volumes 1 and 2 (2001 and 2007, AAAS Project 2061 and the National Science Teachers Association).

This tool works on Windows and Macintoch PCs with recent versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape and Safari browsers. No browser plug-ins are required.
